YOGA FOR TEENAGERS & ADOLESCENTS

MOVING THE BODY, MIND AND SOUL

for lifelong balance, confidence and resilience

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

To teenage well-being

Adolescence is a time of rapid change - physically, emotionally, and socially. Yoga offers a safe, empowering, and age-appropriate way for teenagers to build resilience, reduce stress, and explore who they are in a supportive environment.

At Cardamom Coaching, I offer school-based and community yoga sessions rooted in ancient wisdom, brain-based research, and a deep understanding of adolescent development.

These sessions balance movement, breath, mindfulness, and play - designed to meet young people exactly where they are.

HOW I TEACH

Empowering, Age-Appropriate Yoga

Teaching yoga to young people is not the same as teaching adults. Their bodies, brains, and behaviours require adapted, safe, and engaging approaches:

  • Sessions are developmentally tailored, with modified poses, shorter holds, and simplified anatomy cues.

  • Emphasis on protecting joints, building proprioception, and developing healthy movement patterns.

  • Classes include games, partner work, stories, discussions, essential oils, music, and drawing to foster participation and self-expression.

  • Props (blocks, blankets, straps) make postures more accessible and safe.

  • Gentle assists and clear boundaries support classroom safety and respect.
